Only the files you choose to upload — your inventory, sales, purchase orders, and supplier lists — plus the email address you sign up with. That's it. berthcast doesn't connect to your systems and doesn't pull anything on its own. You decide what to send, and when.
We use your data for one thing: to produce your analysis. We don't browse through it, we don't use it for advertising, and we never sell it.
Every company's data sits in its own space. Your figures are never mixed with another customer's, and no other customer can see them. When you log in, you only ever see your own organisation's data.
To generate the analysis, the relevant figures are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic — the makers of Claude — over an encrypted connection. Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models. We use their tool to do the thinking; your data passes through to get the result and isn't kept by them to build their products.
The connection to berthcast is encrypted (the padlock in your browser). Passwords are stored scrambled, never as plain text, so even we can't read them. Repeated failed login attempts are blocked automatically. Your data lives on a private server, not a public folder, and we take an encrypted snapshot of the database every day — so a technical failure can't quietly erase your history.
Your data is yours. Ask us and we'll delete it. You can stop using berthcast at any time and take your files with you — your own system always remains your source of truth.
We're early, and no online service is ever completely secure — anyone who tells you otherwise isn't being straight with you. We do the sensible things, we don't take shortcuts with your data, and if something ever went wrong, we'd tell you rather than hide it. As with any tool, keep your own backups of anything critical.
